WRITERS TO THE SCHOOLS: Kindergarten – grade 3
• ARLENE ALDA (New York NY) – a fantastic photographer and story-teller. Her new books are Here a Face, There a Face, a photo-collection of “faces” found in everyday objects, and Iris Has a Virus, a funny story about being sick.
• MIREILLE LEVERT (Montreal QC) – award-winning bilingual writer and illustrator. In her new English-language book, The Princess Who Had Almost Everything, a princess learns how to escape boredom.
• JOE McLELLAN (Winnipeg MB) – explores aboriginal and Métis traditions through story. His newest book, Goose Girl, is co-written with his wife, Matrine McLellan, is a tender portrait of a young girl who cares for the dying.
• RICHARD VAN CAMP (Vancouver BC) – beloved aboriginal writer for kids and adults. His many titles for young readers include A Man Called Raven and What’s the Most Beautiful Thing You Know About Horses?

• MARIE ROCQUE (Lorette, MB) – Détentrice d'un baccalauréat en éducation, Marie a travaillé dans des garderies, des écoles et des bibliothèques. C'est lors d'un séjour à Churchill et sur la Terre de Baffin que Marie Rocque s'initie à la vie et aux traditions des habitants du Grand-Nord. En 2005 elle publie la deuxième édition du conte Etuk et Piqati.

• SUSIN NIELSEN (Vancouver BC) – Acclaimed writer for kids and teens. Her new novel, Word Nerd, features a self-confessed nerd who gets in and out of trouble playing high-level Scrabble.
• ARTHUR SLADE (Saskatoon SK) – Governor General’s Award-winning novelist. His new novel, Jolted, features a boy who needs special training at the Jerry Potts Academy of Higher Learning and Survival somewhere in a not-quite-recognizable Saskatchewan prairie.

• RENÉ AMMANN (Winnipeg MB) – Est une enseignant titulaire de troisième année (immersion française) à l’École Centrale de Transcona. Il publie quatre recueils de textes pour les jeunes: Joue, carcajou (1993), Des castors gros comme des bisons (1995), La bouteille mauve (1998) et, en 2004, L’horloge champêtre.
• DANIEL MARCHILDON (Penetanguishene ON) – auteur de Le Pari des Maple Leafs. Il est un romancier, nouvelliste, auteur pour la jeunesse, journaliste et scénariste franco-ontarien. « Choisir d'écrire c'est d'abord poser un geste important, mais de le faire en français en milieu minoritaire c'est relever un défi supplémentaire. »

• KENNETH OPPEL (Toronto ON) – Multi-award-winning novelist (Silverwing and others) and picture-book writer. His new novel, Starclimber, set in the not-too-distant future, completes the Airborne trilogy narrative.

• KATERI AKIWENZIE-DAMM (Cape Croker Reserve ON) – Anishnaabe poet, performance poet, fiction writer, and editor.
• DREW HAYDEN TAYLOR (Toronto ON) – Ojibway writer, playwright, and national columnist.
• SUSIN NIELSEN (Vancouver BC) – accomplished screenwriter (including many episodes of Degrassi), established children’s and YA writer.
• ARTHUR SLADE (Saskatoon SK) – Governor General’s Award-winning novelist and highly successful graphic novelist.
• MICHAEL VAN ROOY (Winnipeg MB) – award winning mystery writer who also writes for documentaries, magazines, newspapers and the internet.

Dans ce recueil de contes fantastiques, illustré par Réal Bérard, Tatiana Arcand vous invite à découvrir les paysages mystérieux du pays des maléfices.
